Proposal Workshop: NSF Unlocking Dataset Value for AI-Enabled Scientific Discovery (NSF 26-512, AI Datasets)

Rather than funding new data collection, this program supports projects that curate, harmonize, and prepare existing datasets for automated AI analysis, machine learning pipelines, and interdisciplinary research.

Funding is divided into Planning grants (up to $200,000) for community organizing, Impact awards (up to $2,000,000), and Flagship awards (up to $5,000,000). Full proposals are due by November 4, 2026, and interested faculty can review the complete guidelines on the NSF solicitation page.

We’re inviting faculty interested in pursuing this opportunity to join us for a workshop over lunch. We will have a short overview of the funding opportunity, followed by opportunities for faculty to share their ideas, datasets, and resources.
